Ningbo Biomass & Biotechnology Co. Ltd (abbreviation: NBB) produces platform chemicals of 5-hydroxymethylfurfual (HMF) and its important derivatives from sugars of oceanic and terrestrial plants. Especially, sugars from the oceanic plant don’t compete with food and land. Now, NBB have setup an industrial production line, and the total production capacity is 50 ton per year. The four main products is HMF, 2,5-furandicarboxylic acid, 2,5-furandimethanol and 2,5-tetrahydrofurandimethanol, and the quality meets the standard of reference substance, analytical reagent and industrial chemical. The aim of NBB is to become the market leading producer in the next three years.
