Cashew nutshell liquid is a pure and natural product, with no artificial element added. The oil is extracted from the cashew nutshell, which is a pericarp fluid of the cashew nutshell. It is primarily used as a raw material for CNSL liquid resin, PF resin, and cashew friction dust (CFD) for automobile brake linings. It is also used for the manufacture of paint & varnishes, epoxy resins & oil soluble resins, surface active agents, synthetic rubber & wax compounding, and foundry resins. Cardanol is a light pale yellow liquid manufactured from cashew nutshell liquid. Cardanol based resins possess resistance to softening action of mineral oils, and high resistance to acids & alkalis, antimicrobial property, termite & insect resistance.
