NICHIAS Corporation was founded in 1896 as a pioneer in thermal insulation materials in Japan. For over a century since then, NICHIAS has widened the business domains it serves to encompass energy, petroleum and petrochemical plants, chemicals, automobiles, construction and housing, as well as electronics, and environmental protection. We provide "insulation and anti-corrosion" products and services to this broad spectrum of business domains.

Throughout our long history, we have built up a broad customer base. We have also cultivated an extensive range of reliable technologies and have developed high-performance, high-quality products based on a wide range of materials, from inorganic materials to organics and metals. This enables us to meet customer needs in environments ranging from extremely low to extremely high temperatures. In doing so, we have earned the trust of stakeholders. Underpinned by these foundations, we have contributed broadly to society through our business.

However, a recent scandal in part of our business risked seriously undermining the trust we have so carefully fostered over many years.

In response to this situation, we are seeking to win back the confidence of our stakeholders with redoubled compliance initiatives designed to prevent any reoccurrence of this type of incident. At the same time, we will reform the company worldwide to reinvent NICHIAS as a company that has society's unequivocal trust. 

Moving forward, we also aim to drive growth at a higher rate than in the past by continuing to deliver new value for all stakeholders. In this stepped-up drive, we intend to make full use of the "intangible assets" I outlined earlier in our core business field of "insulation and anti-corrosion."
